Dedicated to underpinning the development of new-type power systems, Lanso Instruments keeps pushing forward intelligent monitoring technologies for insulating gases used in power grids. Drawing on its proprietary core technologies, premium testing equipment and full-cycle turnkey engineering services, the company has fully delivered the digital upgrade project for the SF₆ density relay monitoring system in the 1000 kV zone of Baoding Ultra-High Voltage (UHV) Substation, providing a solid digital safety guarantee for this pivotal UHV power transmission hub in China.

As a core regional power transmission node, the 1000 kV switchgear yard of Baoding UHV Substation is equipped with 168 SF₆ gas monitoring measuring points. The original imported density transmitters were already phased out by their manufacturer, which triggered surging sensor malfunction rates, breakdown of online monitoring functions, deteriorated operational stability, and heightened hidden risks stemming from undetectable SF₆ gas leakage.

To address the pressing demand for facility modernization, the project team of Lanso Instruments rushed to the site immediately to carry out thorough field surveys and technical evaluations. Tailored to actual on-site operating parameters, a customized retrofitting scheme was formulated adopting the company’s self-developed ZMJ100XDR Remote SF₆ Gas Density Relay, realizing plug-and-play seamless replacement of the aging legacy monitoring hardware. This upgrade completely resolved long-term recurring maintenance bottlenecks, recovered stable real-time online monitoring capacity, and substantially lifted the substation’s overall operational safety level.

From field reconnaissance and engineering design to equipment commissioning and final project acceptance, all construction phases were implemented in strict alignment with Lanso Instruments’ customer-oriented service philosophy and rigorous engineering quality standards. With adherence to stringent quality specifications and refined whole-process project management, the team successfully built a model digital transformation project for Baoding 1000 kV UHV Substation, establishing a new benchmark for intelligent equipment monitoring as well as digital operation and maintenance of key power infrastructure.
